NASA PRIMARY CARE
We are a growing primary care practice where we pride ourselves on delivering high quality patient care. We are looking for a versatile, competent and passionate medical assistant to join our team.
The candidate must have at least 2 years experience as an MA and must be proficient in clinical and administrative aspects of the job.
Key job functions include:
- Rooming patients and documenting all vital information
- Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
- Scheduling patient appointments
- Answering and processing patient calls and messages
- Processing medication refills and referrals
- Verifying insurance information
- Collecting specimens for labs and other clinical duties as necessary to assist with patient care
- Preparing charts for upcoming appointments
- Obtaining prior authorizations from insurance companies
- Administering injections
- Assisting with maintaining good quality metrics
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Post High School education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse is strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- At least 2 years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
- Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
- Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
- Must possess organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff and patients
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
Compensation:
Competitive salary $17-20/hour
