Job Description
You will serve as the Dynamics Analysis Engineer with the primary responsibility of developing models and simulations for analysis of advanced mechanical, spacecraft, loads, and dynamic systems in support of NASA’s exploration goals. You may also support other NASA centers and programs to help develop flight hardware as well as support research and development projects, and participate in failure analyses and mishap investigations as required.

NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions which recognizes NASA’s unique aerospace work. The specific qualifications and minimum education requirements are further described below and within the education section of the job announcement.
To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level:
- Working with commercially available loads and dynamics modeling codes for the design, analysis, and testing of loads and dynamics systems for ground and space environments;
- Utilizing loads models, modal correlation, and simulations with test data, or independent analytical solution;
- Performing dynamics analysis on spacecraft and other systems using methods such as Rigid-body Dynamics, Vibration, Acoustics, and Loads development.
