Compensation Analyst

Job Description

Candidates must work in office from our Tustin office 3x per week.

The Compensation Analyst is responsible for the administration of the Virgin Galactic compensation programs, which includes base salary, short-term and long-term incentive plans.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts job evaluations and assesses external market data and internal equity to provide salary and incentive recommendations.
  • Builds and manages relationships with key internal/external partners.
  • Provide support and guidance on internal/external salary offer actions.
  • Participates in external salary surveys to assess market competitiveness and trends.
  • Executes the administration of the annual focal review cycle, including merit/bonus payments.
  • Provides recommendations for merit budget and salary structure movement.
  • Maintains the survey database (Willis Towers Watson Compensation Software) utilized for market pricing all positions.
  • Manages job descriptions and reevaluates market pricing as needed based on updates.
  • Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information.
  • Performs periodic departmental reviews of market competitiveness.
  • Processes compensation actions which may include pay adjustments, promotion memos, and bonus letters, and offer letters.
  • Participates in special compensation/HRIS projects, as assigned.

Requires Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • WorldatWork CCP Certification preferred
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in the compensation field as a Compensation HR team member
  • Experience with Success Factors and the Success Factors Compensation module
  • Experience communicating effectively across diverse teams, including translating ideas and quantitative insights into digestible information for leaders and teammates
  • Experience with analyzing external compensation surveys and/or engineering/aerospace positions
  • Strong understanding of compensation best practices, current compensation trends, and market benchmark data
  • Proven analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, problem solver, and truly in-depth knowledge of MS Excel including building and maintaining models
  • Ability to get into the details, while maintaining a broader view
  • Strong communication and organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Strong presentations skills and must be comfortable with presenting to executive leadership
  • Familiarity with equity compensation programs and related compliance requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels in the organization
