Maxar is searching for a Software Engineer with Active Secret Clearance to join our Data Foundations team, based in Westminster, CO
The preferred candidate is located in/near Westminster, CO
In this role, you will be part of a team that is responsible for growing and improving the services utilized to exploit our 125+ PB archive of satellite imagery
This team has led the way in utilizing AWS for satellite imagery storage, enrichment and access
We are one of the largest users of AWS S3 Glacier, push its limits, and we work closely with AWS to provide feedback
We were an early user of AWS Snow Mobile
The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in developing and supporting production level software systems

We deploy multiple times daily and own our services from design through production
As a member of this team, you will:
• Research, evaluate, design, develop, implement, and improve state-of-the-art software in collaboration with other software engineers, system architects, and business stakeholders.
* Own cloud infrastructure and CI/CD system.
* Communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary agile team.
* Follow and establish best practices for coding standards and software architecture.
* Responsible for the ‘ilities’: availability, scalability, maintainability, reliability, and securability of our services

Basic Qualifications
• Must be a U.S
Citizen
* Demonstrated strong software development experience within a production environment.
* Experience working in a collaborative development environment (e.g
submitting and reviewing pull requests, code reviews, team design sessions, etc).
* Experience with Agile software development practices.
* Willingness to participate in on-call rotation.
* Must have ACTIVE U.S
Government Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
• Success delivering and maintaining complex software systems in production.
* Experience automating infrastructure with Zero downtime deployments.
* Terraform, CloudFormation and/or CDK
* Jenkins
* Linux system administration
* Expertise with application monitoring tools and improving system observability.
• Java and/or Python experience.
* In depth experience with AWS services
* Familiarity with containerization and serverless development.
* Experience building, monitoring, and alerting in micro-service architecture.
* Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or satellite imagery experience Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility
Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience
The range for this position is: $119,000.00 – $199,000.00 annually
Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions
