Duties

Summary

You will serve as Program/Project Manager in the Human Exploration and Development Operations Office (HP) with responsibility to oversee the management and integration of cost, technical, schedule, and risk in support of programs such as, Artemis, Moon to Mars, International Space Station, and special projects. You will collaborate with technical managers, executives, and stakeholders in integrating projects and programs across the Center, Agency, and external organizations.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions which recognizes NASA’s unique aerospace work. The specific qualifications and minimum education requirements are further described below and within the education section of the job announcement. To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level: Performing technical management functions that require working with multi-disciplined or cross-functional teams involved in engineering development programs/projects; Performing strategic planning or technical management functions supporting investigative and technology development efforts for the advancement of complex engineering systems, subsystems or related equipment and systems; Leading projects and coordinating initiatives across organizational boundaries, analyzing results, and making recommendations to improve performance; Collaborating with program managers, technical specialists, engineers, and/or stakeholders to resolve problems that impact operations (e.g., addressing critical timelines, resource allocation, integration of systems and subsystems, and project performance).
