Job Description

Duties

  • Provide day-to-day oversight, guidance, and direction of national security system network operations and direct notifications, mitigations, and triage for events affecting national security systems.
  • Track current outages and provide timely reporting for all outages through published reports.
  • Review open-source reporting and coordination with other cyber elements for early identification of new vulnerability and threat trends.
  • Provide reports on new developments in briefings, presentations, and other formats to service line leadership.
  • Identify new analytics capabilities to meet the ever-increasing threats against our networks that will be able to quickly assess the threat to operational/mission space and work with security personnel to mitigate in near real time.
  • Keep current on Advanced Persistent Threats and Indicators of Compromise that affect the operational and mission networks and proactively work with internal and external partners to mitigate them before they compromise NASA national security systems.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level.

  • Managing an enterprise operations center that provides service monitoring and mitigation efforts;
  • Providing outage notifications to senior leadership and leading triage efforts for mission critical networks;
  • Developing strategies to counter adversarial intrusions into an enterprise network and managing activities to implement those strategies.

AND

You MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

  4. Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
