This position is in our corporate headquarters in Tustin, CA location and require you to be onsite Monday through Thursday, with a remote option on Friday.

**Responsibilities**

The Stress Engineer Intern will work within the Structural Integrity group
The Structural Integrity team is looking for an intern who must be enthusiastic with high energy and have a strong willingness to learn advanced structural analysis concepts
As an intern, you will be working in the hands-on assessment and analytical substantiation of structure and / or mechanical systems in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
The Stress Intern will interface and collaborate with Design Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Propulsion & Systems teams, Flight Test Engineers, Maintenance & Operations teams, and more in supporting structural substantiation of spaceship and/or mothership programs.

This position is in Tustin, CA and work on a hybrid schedule, Monday through Thursday onsite with an option for working remotely on Friday.

**Required Skills and Experience**

+ Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree (required) from an accredited institution, with a concentration in a relevant Engineering discipline.

+ Solid understanding of material properties & behavior, statics / free body diagrams, and structural load paths.

+ Strong teamwork and coordination skills

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of tools, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

+ Must have at least one additional quarter/semester of school remaining following the completion of the internship.

+ Must be a US citizen, or national, current US permanent resident holder.

+ Must possess strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.

+ Development of both technical skills as well as leadership qualities.

+ Strong interest in commercial space flight

**Preferred Skills and Experience**

+ Previous experience with Finite Element Modeling software is a strong plus.

+ Experience / participation in Design-Build-Fly or other similar programs in an academic environment is a strong plus.

+ Hands-on experience with composite and/or metallic part fabrication and assembly process is a plus.

The annual U.S
base salary range for this full-time position is $41,600.00-$55,640.00
The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity
Other forms of pay (e.g., bonus or long term incentive) may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered
