SUMMARY

The Materials Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless alignment of production processes with the Master Planned Schedule (MPS), internal factory capacity, and the broader supply chain plan. They take ownership of end-to-end production data collection and analysis to drive informed decision-making throughout the team. Continuously striving for process improvement, their goal is to significantly boost production rates while reducing costs. Additionally, they collaborate closely with materials and operations managers, interface with cross-functional teams to address resource constraints, and lead Agile-style planning meetings to monitor progress and refine plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute operating system that ensures optimal alignment to Master Planned Schedule (MPS), internal factory capacity and the external supply chain plan
  • End to end ownership of production data collection and analysis to drive data driven decisions across the team.
  • Continuous process development and improvement with the aim of radically increasing production rate and substantially reducing cost.
  • Work closely with materials manager and operations manager to meet current and future production plans
  • Interface with interdepartmental teams to understand and help resolve resource constraints.
  • Develop an understanding of current capacity bottlenecks and work across the team to eliminate them.
  • Manage vehicle build rate schedule and constantly improve accuracy by collecting and processing relevant data.
  • Lead Agile style planning and retrospective meetings to track progress and plans

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply chain or related technical field
  • 5+ years experience planning/scheduling/production control in a high mix, fast paced environment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies as well as Agile organizational practices
  • Proven experience with complex problem solving
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to back up conclusions with data
  • Time management skills, with the ability to separate the important tasks from the noise
  • Sense of urgency, with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Proven experience working in dynamic and evolving environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with cross functional stakeholders (Senior leadership, Production Technician, and Engineers)
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills – Must be a team player
  • Ability to thrive in high stakes, stressful, short deadline environments
  • Critical thinking, detail-oriented and strong decision making ability

Desired

  • Experience with ERP systems, Atlassian Confluence & Jira, Smartsheet, and Git/Bitbucket
  • ITAR experience.
  • Database experience with SQL, Python or similar database technologies
  • Aerospace Industry as an OEM, Supplier, Contractor, Sub-contractor.
  • Experience in an Engineering development, Proto-typing and test environment a plus.
  • Experience in AS9100 environment a plus.
  • APICS/ASCM Certification a plus
  • R & D experience.
