DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work on a collaborative team developing Axiom’s Space Station Temperature and Humidity Control Assembly (THCA) for low Earth orbit and beyond, demonstrating our value of leading
- Collaborate to develop and manage requirements/verifications as it pertains to THCA flight hardware development
- Select components with appropriate sizing for flow and pressure requirements, as well as material compatibility, demonstrating technical excellence
- Create models and procedures for validating the designs to satisfy requirements and demonstrate performance
- Plan and perform testing on THCA components and integrated assemblies
- Perform trade studies for technology development to develop solutions
- Analyze component/system performance and make recommendations for improvement, demonstrating our value of together
- Be responsible for components/assemblies of the flight hardware design
- Develop knowledge and expertise to serve as a department Subject Matter Expert (SME), including learning new tasks to gain deeper knowledge and insight, demonstrating our value of leading
- Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering
- 5+ years’ experience with designing mechanical and/or environmental control components/assemblies
- Proficiency in CAD and modeling (SolidWorks preferred)
- Knowledge and experience with various manufacturing processes
- Clear drive to own and be responsible for a set of hardware or aspect of design
- Prior ownership or responsibility of hardware development (Aerospace preferred)
- Experience with component/integrated system testing and validation
- Experience with data analysis and troubleshooting
- Experience in Environmental Control & Life Support Systems (preferred)
- Knowledge and experience with psychometrics (preferred)
- Experience sizing and selected fans and ducting (preferred)
- Experience sizing and selecting cooling equipment (preferred)
- Experience with spaceflight hardware design, testing, certification (preferred)
Essential Functions
Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
Requirements
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
- Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
