Job Summary
As a crucial member of our team, the Procurement Agent will collaborate with Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Engineering, Program Controls, Program Management, Shipping/Receiving/Inventory teams, and other teams within the supply chain, such as Material Planning and Supplier/Compliance Operations. The goal is to ensure efficient execution of purchase orders and meet immediate procurement needs. We are seeking a candidate with a proactive attitude, strong negotiation skills, and a passion for process improvement.
This position’s internal job code is Procurement Agent. Our team is currently hiring for level 3.
Job Responsibilities
- Partner with internal customers (engineers) to ensure source selection and procurements meet program requirements (schedule, cost, and quality).
- Actively manage the procurement process, from quoting and order placement to receipt of products and payment of invoices.
- Lead formal negotiations, addressing price, schedule, and supplier exceptions to contractual requirements.
- Manage supplier performance through consistent communication, ensuring adherence to purchase order terms and conditions.
- Proactively develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external suppliers.
- Collaborate closely with other teams within the supply chain, such as Material Planning and Supplier/Compliance team.
- Support Planning/Shipping & Receiving/Inventory efforts.
- Develop processes and strategies, such as VMI, Blanket Purchase Orders, and Long-Term Agreements, as required.
- Play a key role in the process improvement of the ERP system.
- Communicate key changes affecting materials to internal stakeholders.
- Host and/or lead technical calls with suppliers and engineers as necessary.
- Utilize MS Outlook, MS Teams, WebEx, and other technologies to increase efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years relevant experience in Procurement, business management, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in procurement.
- Familiarity with FAR/DFARS.
- Familiarity with machined parts and assemblies, electronics, raw materials, and/or other commodities.
- Basic understanding of price analysis methodologies.
- Solid judgment, reasoning, and decision-making ability in the absence of predefined processes or procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- APICS/ASCM Certification
- 3+ years of experience in procurement
- Working knowledge of FAR/DFAR
- Deltek Costpoint ERP experience
- Familiarity with AS9100
Summary Pay-Range
Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only of what is reasonably expected to be paid for the position. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
- Level 3: $79,900 – $117,500
