SPACE SYSTEMS
Rocket Lab’s Space Systems team is responsible for every satellite and satellite component made by Rocket Lab: from complete satellites destined for missions to the Moon and Mars, to the individual components and subsystems that make up a satellite like solar panels, flight software, reaction wheels and star trackers, separation systems, radios, and more. Our Space Systems team is made up of engineers, technicians, and designers who design, create, and put together our own satellites for missions across the commercial, government, and defense sectors, or who build and assemble satellite hardware and software that supports other satellite missions.
PROJECT COORDINATOR I/II
As a Project Coordinator based at Rocket Lab’s site in Silver Sprin, Maryland, you will be responsible for supporting engineering projects through accurate data management, schedule tracking, and data reporting. Project Coordinators will play an important role in ensuring the success of the Rocket Lab operations – from businesses development to deliverable completion. The primary function of a Project Coordinator is to support Operations Management and Program Managers on both internal and external projects.
(Please note: this position can be hired at the Project Coordinator I or Project Coordinator II level)
WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:
- Maintain project schedules and RAID logs.
- Ensure accurate and timely data capture and reporting.
- Support communication between PSC and external stakeholders (customers, suppliers, cross-functional teams)
- Support resolving logistics issues and material allocation activities.
- Identify and track risks and issues through mitigation/remediation.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high quality products on schedule.
- Support maintaining internal procedures and documentation.
- Assist with monthly forecasts and financial estimates.
- Support Project Lifecycle Management activities including document revisions and BOM management.
YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS PROJECT COORDINATOR I:
- 2+ years of experience in a data heavy process, production, or manufacturing environment
- High school diploma or GED
YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS PROJECT COORDINATOR II:
- 5+ years of experience in data heavy process, production, or manufacturing environment
- High school diploma or GED
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:
- Detail-oriented mindset and approach.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present key stakeholders and leadership.
- Ability to keep information organized.
- Ability to work independently and move fast with minimal guidance.
- Ability to identify and highlight potential issues and provide mitigation plans.
- Demonstrated dedication to high quality standards and excellent work.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills or equivalent
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional stakeholders (Finance, Legal, Management, Engineering, Procurement, etc.,)
- Proactive, enthusiastic, and self-motivated approach
- Experience working in an environment with tight deadlines.
- Experienced in data heavy process, production, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with building projects, schedules, tracking and reporting.
- Experience in new product development materials planning.
- Previous experience in a project specialist or administration role
- Experience leading and managing projects.
- Experience working within a regulated industry such as Aerospace, Medical, Automotive etc.
- Exposure to regulatory standards such as AS9100, ISO13485, IATF 16949 or similar
- Experience with a wide range of specialized technical manufacturing processes.
- Developing KPIs for performance reporting
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
- Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.
- Must be physically able to commute to buildings
- Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise.
