Hermeus is seeking a skilled Propulsion Test Technician to join our growing team at our newest facility in Florida. As a Propulsion Test Technician, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and operation of propulsion system test hardware to ensure the reliability and performance of Hermeus aircraft engines. This position will collaborate in a cross functional working environment and contribute to the development of cutting-edge aerospace technologies.

What You’ll Do as a Propulsion Test Technician

  • Responsible for the development, maintenance, and operations of propulsion test hardware (including facilities and ground test equipment).
  • Perform a variety of test operations, including safely configuring high-pressure hazardous fluid systems, meticulously connecting instrumentation, and ensuring restricted area access control. Furthermore, troubleshoot instrumentation and test hardware malfunctions while attentively monitoring test video and data for anomalies.
  • Build, test, modify, and troubleshoot new and existing test equipment which ranges from fluid systems, mechanical assemblies, data and control systems, and instrumentation.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent certificate
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Available to work overtime and weekends
  • 2+ years of experience working in an aerospace, aviation environment in a technical, hands-on capacity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to read and provide feedback on technical documents
  • Willing and able to travel to support propulsion/flight test needs
  • Must be proficient with computers and Microsoft suite
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a startup development environment
  • Experience working in a flight/propulsion development program
  • A&P license is preferred, but not required
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and in a scrappy and cost-effective manner
  • Hands-on experience machining, welding, or integrating hardware (aerospace or other industry)
  • Knowledge/experience with AN (JIC) and Swagelok fluid connections
  • Experience with Fabricating and assembling pneumatic and fluid systems; including bending/flaring/assembling of stainless-steel tubing
  • Knowledge/experience working with electrical components and systems
  • Jet engine test cell experience
  • 4+ years Military Jet engine maintenance and inspection(s) experience.
  • 4+ years Depot-Level (D-Level) or Intermediate level (I-level) maintenance experience
