Duties

  • Duties described below are at the highest grade advertised. Duties assigned at lower grade levels will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee.
  • Manages real property and real estate transactions, including those that involve complex, controversial, or unusual problems, or negotiations.
  • Supports accountability and auditability of NASA real property and real estate transactions.
  • Ensures accurate recording and reporting of assigned real property inventory and management of real property records in accordance with the NASA Records Retention Schedule.
  • Applies a wide range of real estate principles, concepts and processes for the acquisition, management, out-granting, and/or disposal of real property with unique and diverse requirements.
  • Prepares real estate documents and provides independent technical review for real estate transactions to include leases, easements, licenses, permits, etc.
  • Prepares, coordinates, and processes real property accountability documentation to include transfer and/or notification of acceptance of accountability of real property.
  • Prepares, coordinates, and processes divestment requests to include documentation.
  • Provides real property reports to stakeholders using Agency tools, such as Business Objects (BOBJ).

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level:

  • researching and applying directives, regulations and policies to effect real property transactions;
  • coordinating real property transactions with other stakeholder organizations such as facilities, facilities planning, and finance; and
  • conducting real property transactions in real property management system software, such as SAP.

To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level:

  • processing transfer and/or notification of acceptance of accountability to ensure accuracy of real property transactions;
  • coordinating real property functions with government and/or private entities; and
  • accepting real property improvements made through construction, transfer, and/or purchase.
