Sr. Analyst, Commercial Strategy

Job Description

The Senior Analyst, Commercial Strategy will independently own multiple projects and programs, leading aspects including but not limited to advanced excel modeling, full presentation building and presentation, internal/external research and influencing multiple business units across the enterprise. This senior analyst will be a results driver for the Commercial and Finance organizations, rather than solely showcasing technical competence.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct rigorous excel analysis and extract meaningful insights and recommendations to the CFO, VP’s of Finance, VP of Commercial & Corporate Strategy & other commercial stakeholders
  • Partner with the Finance VP’s, VP of Commercial & Corporate Strategy, VP’s within Spaceline and Director of Strategy & Commercial Programs to refine and enhance cost assumptions living within the company Long Range Model to influence corporate-level strategic decision making
  • Partner with the VP of Investor Relations for analysis and documentation to inform capital raising decisions and earnings discussions
  • Regularly build slides that are story-driven, analytically sound and visually appealing for the CEO, CFO, VPs across the enterprise and Board of Directors
  • Regularly provide updates, analysis and approaches to the CFO, President of Spaceline and other key VP+ stakeholders regarding future spaceport activities and other business development opportunities
  • Use frameworks and strategic thinking to build new corporate or commercial programs (e.g., sales development programs)
  • Support the Director of Strategy & Commercial Programs in regularly building complete presentations and pitches to present and influence the Commercial Organization in building out programs and influencing approaches leading up to Delta spaceship commercial operations
  • Identify and proactively engage expert resources across functions and teams, ensuring joint ownership of recommendations
  • Consistently demonstrate creative problem-solving abilities and strategic framework building
  • Build relationships across the company to gather requirements, inputs and buy-in using system engineering / systems thinking approaches


Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or other analytic-heavy roles
  • 5 + years of experience as an analyst with 2-4 years of experience in Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Strategic Planning or related fields
  • Moderate-to-advanced data analysis and financial modelling skills, coupled with excellent story-telling abilities
  • Proven track record of breaking down complex problems and solving with analytical methods
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to use strategic acumen to influence short term and long term priorities
  • Excellent Excel & Powerpoint abilities, strength in presenting to VP’s and above


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Masters Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or other analytic-heavy roles
  • Thinkcell, Salesforce, PowerBI experience
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Proven ability to work with teams and stakeholders across the company
  • Bias towards action, innovation and delivery of tangible results
  • “Can Do” spirit, with intrinsic curiosity and ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule

The annual U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $96,800.00–$147,650.00. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity. Other forms of pay (e.g., bonus or long term incentive) may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
