Job Description

Maxar is seeking a product support engineer for our One World Terrain (OWT) program. The OWT program provides the U.S. Army with state-of-the-art 3D Terrain Data for the Army’s Synthetic Training Environment (STE). Maxar uses satellite imagery-based photogrammetry for 3D Surface Model creation, advanced Machine Learning (ML) for per pixel classification, image science for texture extraction and High-performance computing (HPC) compute clusters and high-speed disk system to support a fully automated 3D Terrain Generation capability. A successful candidate will join the growing engineering team to support Maxar’s OWT program execution and Maxar product development
In this role, you will work directly with Maxar’s 3D terrain engineering and sub-contractor team members , creating new and innovative solutions to complex and challenging spatial problems. The Maxar’s 3D programs deliver 3D global terrain capability and associated information services that support a fully virtual representation of the physical Earth through the Army network. The US Army’s One World Terrain (OWT) program is a key component of the Army’s Synthetic Training Environment (STE) modernization initiative t o provide a realistic, common, and automatically generated global geospatial dataset for simulation, mission command, and intelligence systems to conduct collective training.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • US Citizen eligible for U.S. SECRET security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related field of study) or significant relevant experience
  • 5+ years direct software development experience
  • 3+ years of experience working in a highly regulated (DoD) software development environment
  • Extensive knowledge of C / C++
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with Python, C#, JavaScript / Typescript, HTML
  • Experience with AI and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms
  • Comfortable working in a Linux or Windows environment
  • Experience using geospatial transforms and different coordinate systems
  • Experience with image processing
  • Familiarity with 3D graphics rendering, game engine, or image generator technology
  • Experience with HPC clustering, multi-threaded, multi-process, and GPU optimizations
  • Familiarity with cloud computing and storage
  • Prior experience with DoD / Army simulation strongly desired
Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$108,000.00 – $180,000.00 annually.
