Maxar is looking to add a Systems Architectto our team to support a customer who has a fast-paced and exciting mission within the Intelligence Community. This position will support modern microservice applications and data architectures for advanced technical missions.

The Systems Architect will work independently and as part of a software development team comprised of technical experts supporting an established and growing Intelligence Community (IC) mission. You will need to quickly understand and assess complex mission workflows and technical concepts, design and specify architectures and approaches and articulate your recommendations to the team.

Day-to-Day with your Colleagues: 

 

The Systems Architect will provideengineering analysis, design and architecture for a growing data driven microservice and mission application environment. TheSystems Architect will be asked to provide technical expertise to support a variety of tasks to include, but not limited to: 
  

  • Provide architectural design and implementation recommendations to customer for enterprise levelsolutions 

  • Deploy and configure architecture across various operational systems and environments to meet the needs of the customer, considering cross domain, cloud integration and security architecture needs. 

  • Develop a plan to execute the migration of dataacross domains, ensuring architecture and software configurations are sufficient to support the data types, size, update frequencies, and theview/edit needs of the customer. 

  • Provide troubleshooting for storage, networking, security and integration architecture. 

  • Provide sustainment to cross domain solutions, to include integration of capabilities, updates/upgrades, data sources, dissemination paths, and extensible API development.  

  • Help customer understand system architecture needs and componentintegrationinto the customers larger enterprise framework. 

  • Design software and data architectures that meet and exceed mission needs which are implementable, extensible, and flexible. 

 

Minimum Requirements 

 

  • Current/active TS/SCI security clearance w/CI Polygraph. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer scienceor engineering discipline. 4 additional, relevant years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. 

  • 5 years of relevant experience as a Software or Systems Engineer. 

  • Experience as a systems architect of software systems successfully implemented and deployed to production. 

 

Preferred Skills: 

 

  • Software development background, especially as a tech lead or senior developer role. 

  • Experience working on an Agile team and executing according to agile principles. 

  • Experience working on-site at a customer location, especially DoD or IC. 

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within or lead a team of peers, as well as excellent interpersonal and communications skills. 

  • Ability to communicate highly technical analyses at a level comprehensible to non-technical audiences and senior-level government representatives. 

  • Military or defense-related experience and an understanding of operational planning and functional defeat of hard targets. 

  • DAWIA Level II or equivalent in the systems planning, research, development and engineering (SPRDE)-S&T functional areas. 

  • DoD test and evaluation, SPRDE-S&T manager or systems engineering, program management, or contracting experience. 

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$128,000.00 – $214,000.00 annually.
